This movement is a campaign against police brutality and racial profiling towards black people. This movement is most popular on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with #BlackLivesMatter #AllLivesMatter
  • Australia Gay Marriage

    Australia Gay Marriage
    In Australia, there was a Marriage Law Postal Survey that was held from September to November 2017. Although it started with mail, people posted their support on social media with hashtags. An AU Marriage Equality Twitter account was created to share peoples support with #voteyes #MarriageEquality & #postYourYes. Once same-sex marriage was legalized, over 4000 tweets were sent per second during peak hours for the first 12 months of people showing their support.

    This was the 6th annual worldwide day to shine a light on slavery awareness and try to stop it. This was done by using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & YouTube. Celebrities & others showed their support by drawing a red X on their hand & posting pictures of it on Social Media or posting with #EndIt
  • National School Walkout

    National School Walkout
    On March 14th, 2018 at 10 am for 17 minutes to represent each victim in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, there was a National School Walkout. This was to protest school shootings and to protest Congresses lack of action to correct the violence. Over 3 thousand schools participated in the walkout.

    Twitter and Facebook were the main social media platforms used to get he word out with hashtags #ENOUGH #NationalSchoolWalkout and #NeverAgain
  • Chicago Dan Ryan Shut Down

    Chicago Dan Ryan Shut Down
    The Dan Ryan Shut Down was part of the 10th annual Saint Sabina's Peace March and Rally to stop gun violence in Chicago and to create a safer community. This Rally consists of student speakers and celebrities, and is followed by a march.

    They use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with #CHICAGOSTRONG to foster support and attention.
