    The Constitution is th- supreme law of the United States of America. It was adoptedon september 17 1787 by the Constitutional Convention in Philidelphia. It did not include rights of the African Americans or the Native Americans.

    The Bill of Rights is a name fro the first ten ammendments to the united states constitution. These limitations serve to protect the natural rights of liberty and property. The amendments were introduced by James Madison to the !st United States congress as a set of legislative articles. This lead to the civil war because it did not gove black rights.

    Cottin gin is a machine that separates the cotton from It's seeds. This allows much great and quicker productivity of cotton. most of the cotton is used to make clothing. they use seeds to plant more cotton. This lead to the civil war because it allowed less work for slaves.

    THe industrial revolution was a new manufacturing process. INstead of making things by hnd they used machines. this improved efficiency of water power. They also started using coal instead of wood for fuell. The south did not like this because it did not require the use of slaves.

    This is a leagal theory that a state has the right to nullify something that seems unconstitutional. The theory of nullifacation has never been leagaly upheld. This lead to the civil war because states could make their own slave laws.

    The louisiana land was owned by the french the us bought it for 15 million dollars. It was a good deal because it could have been much moe expensive. The north and south argued wheather it should be a slave area.

    The missouri comptomise by the pro slavery and anti slavery parts of the U.S. It put slavery in the western territorys and kept it out of the louisiana territory. It lead to the civil war because one side wanted everything to be slaverry. The other wanted slavery out.

    It was signed into law by andrew jackson. It authorized him to negotioate with the native americans. They negotiated about their removal to the territory west of the mississippi. This lead to the civil war because of states rights vs federal authority.
  • Nat Turnur's Rebelion

    Nat Turners rebelion was a slave uprising lead by nat turner. It took place in virginia. 55-65 white people were killed. this was the biggest slave uprising ever. This lead to the civil war because it made the south white people really mad.
  • Dred Scott's Decision

    It made two main rulings. The first said that no black people were citezens. Also the federal government could not regulate slavery. This mase the north mad.

    This was an rmed conflict between U.S. ans Mexico. The Mexicans thought texas was their territory. It was the united states' territory.

    The underground railraod was an underground network usewd to help slaves escape. they would go to safe houses in the north to hide. if they escaped succesfully they would be free. this lead to the civil war becuase the south did not like the north stealing the slaves.

    The Compromise of 1850 was a package of five bills passed in the United States. This stopped a four year confrontation between the north and t5he south. The compromise did not lead to the civil war. It only postponed it.

    Uncle toms cabin ins a anti slavery novel. It was written by Harriet Beach Stowe. It was about suffering native american slave. This lead to the civil war because it made the south mad.
  • Kansas - Nebraska Act

    This created the territorys of Kansas and Nebraska. This opened new land, and alowed space for settlers. This was created by a democratic senator, Stephan A. Douglass. This lead to the civil war because the north did not want slaves, but the south did.
  • John Brown's Raid

    This was an attept by the white abolitionist John Brown to start an armed slave revolt. They seized a united states arsenal at harpers ferry virginia. The party was defeated by the U.S. marines. This lead to the civio war because it created conflict between the north and south.

    This was the 19th presidential election of the united states. Abraham Lincoln was the winner. Abraham Lincoln was against slavery. This lead to the civil war becaus enow the south was angry becasue their was a president against slavery.
