  • Lisbon Earthquake

    This earthquake struck Lisbon in 1755. Due being ill prepared around 20,000 people were killed. there were reports of waves reaching 7m (23 ft) and a magnitude of 9.

  • Krakatoa Eruptuion

    This volcanic eruption caused earthquakes and tsunamis in java and sumatra. with around 36,000 people dieing. 165 villages were distroid by 35m (115ft) waves caused by the 8.5 magnitude earthquake.

  • Aleutian Earthquake

    caused by a 9.5 magnitude earhtquake this tsunami struck alaska. with the lack of people in alaska only 160 people were killed.

  • Great Chilean Earthquake

    the waves caused by the 9.2 quake ended up killing 61 people. the low number caused by a better prepairedness. the wave took 15 hours to reach the shore after being set off by the quake and still caused massive damage.

  • Good Friday Earthquake

    22 years after the last earhtquake to strike alaska another hit them causeing a tsunami formed by a 9.2 earthquake. two waves hit alaska anb california. this killed 130 people and caused large damage.

  • Sea of Japan Earthquake

    this wave struck okushiri island in the sea of japan claiming 120 lives. caused by a magnitude 7.8 quake in the sea the waves hit part of mainland japan but mostly the islands.

  • Papua New Guinea Qauke

    claiming more lives in recent years than other quakes before it this disastor killed 2100 people. caused by a 7.1 quake and causeing multiple waves this was a costle disastor.

  • Sumatra Earthquake

    caused by a 9.2 quake and killing more people then any other wave this occurance was horrible. 230,000 people died to this wave and it caused milions of property damage.

  • samoa earthquake

    set in the samoan islands this tsunami killed around 200 people. the wave was caused by a 8.1 quake and more life loss was avoided due to some preemtive actions.

  • chile quake

    this wave killed 700 people and was caused by a 8.8 earthqauke.

  • tohoku earthquake

    this wave was dangerous as it damaged some nuclear reactor. cuaed by a 9.1 quake out at sea this wave claimed 20,000 lives and left japan in direpair.
