This letter was written by Khrushchev to Kennedy saying to avoid Nuclear war. Khrushchev indicated that the Soviet Union would take its missiles out of Cuba in return for a U.S. pledge not to invade the island. -

This letter was basically demanding that the United States remove its nuclear missiles from Turkey in return for a withdrawal of Soviet missiles from Cuba. Kennedy found the letter to be unacceptable and told him that he wasnt going to remove the nucler missiles and that he doesnt want to be embarrsed by the world.
