  • Six-Day War

    Six-Day War
    During the Six Day War, Isreal took control of the Golan Heights, Sinai Penninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem. This land contained a very large Palestinian population.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Yom Kippur War
    Egypt and Syria launched a surprise attack against Isreal to attempt to reclaim their land. They were successful at first, however with the support of the US, Isreal was able to push back the Arab forces. After weeks of fighting, both sides agreed to a cease fire.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    This is a treaty between Isreal and Egypt. Egypt agreed to recognize Isreal as a country and Isreal returned the Sinai Penninsula to Egypt. This ended 30 years of fighting.
  • First Intifada

    First Intifada
    Palestine rebelled against Isreal with violence in the streets. Isreal responded with police. The rebels continued to fight until the early 1990's when Yasser Arafat gained power of Palestine.
  • Second Intifada

    Second Intifada
    The Palestinian youth rebellion against Isreal continued. The Palestinians had weapons for this revolt. Isreal responded with Military action and troops. They deployed troops in the West Bank of Gaza and occupied most of Palestine.
