    1900-1917- Beginning

    in 1917 alot of Jews were moving into The Palestinian Land in part of Zionism which was mostly European Jews trying escape their extermination they were also trying to establish their own state in their ancestral homeland and large numbers of Middle Eastern Jews also moved to Israel either trying to escape the anti-Semitic violence or because they were kicked out of their communities. This is when communal violence between Jews and Arabs in Palestine began getting out of control.

    June 1916

    In June 1916 Sharif Hussein who was the head of the Arab nationalists and in alliance with Britain and France started the Great Arab Revolt against Ottoman rule. His kids the emirs Abdullah and Faisal led these Arab forces. Emir Faisal’s forces liberated Damascus from Ottoman rule in 1918. At the end of this war Arab forces controlled all of Jordan territory, most of the Arabian peninsula and much of southern Syria.

    November 2, 1917

    The British Government showed its support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine when it released the "Balfour Declaration,"which stated that their Government view was in favor of the making in Palestine a national home for the Jewish people and it would be clear that nothing should be done that could cause prejudice towards the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine nor the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country

    1933-1936

    After the Nazi began it's reign of terror in 1933 it caused a massive refugee crisis causing German Jews to find safe places from persecution. Between 1933 and 1936 more Jews emigrated from Germany to Palestine than to anywhere else. Around 154,300 Jews and 34,700 of them from Germany had entered Palestine legally while others entered illegally this made the percentage of Jews in the Palestinian population grow going from 17 percent in 1931 to almost 30 percent in 1935.

    President Obama makes a very straightforward speech which encouraged Israel to reach a final peace agreement with the Palestinians. Obama then said a that a 'full and phased withdrawal of Israeli military forces' from the West Bank should be done in coordination with Palestinian security forces. Then he described a future Palestinian state as 'nonmilitarized,' a key Israeli demand."
