  • Coal Trade and Settlement

    The govener permanently set up a coal mine named Newcastle where it became the centre of the development of coal trade, The use of the coal was production of salt, and also used for fuel.
  • First Steam engine

    First Steam Engine was shipped to NSW, more and more steam engines were producedin 1825, 1826 and 1829.
  • Changes to Steam

    When steam engines arrived in NSW, Mechanical work was done by either convicts or animals then with steam engines it did that job for them, Steam engines Made transport of the goods alot eaiser developing Industrialisation also steam paddlers were built in 1831 and Steam ships were built in 1852
  • Textile Industry

    Simeon Lord developed a Mill in Sydeny and in 1816 he entered a agreement with Govenor Macquarie to mill, dye and dress cloth from the Female Factory at Paramatta, then at 1832 another textile factory was established at Black wattle bay sydney, its said that it manafactured the finest as well as coarest cloths, by 1838 there were 7 mills in NSW and by 1841 most people were dressed in tweeds. the output of cloth reached 235000 yards per annum in 1852
  • Iron and Steel

    The first try of iron and steel smelting was made in 1848 NSW, the plant was then found to not be economical and soon was shutdown by 1877. An attempt of establishing a plant was made in Victoria 1873 becoming succesful and being called Lal Lal iron mining co LTD.in 1874
  • Gold Rushes

    Gold Rushes in Victoria and NSW not on brought an increase in population but also wealth, Both Melbourne and Sydney quickly grew and developed cities and buildings in rivalry of other countrys
  • SA Railway

    Whilst SA already had horse drawn railway's working around the Murray river it then developed into steam power trains which first opened 1856 between Adelaide and Port Adelaide
  • Timber Railway

    Private timberway from Lockville to Yoganup was established and was the first Railway in WA, The first Governemnt railway opened on 1879 travelling between Geraldton and Northampton.
  • Textile Industry

    NSW was not the only place where cloth was produced the Waverly Woolen Mill at Distillery Creek near Launceston was established in 1873 and won 1000 pound given by the Tasmainian colonial government for the first woolen goods manufactured in the colony from locally produced wool, The textile industry relied heavily on the low-labour of women and migrant workers. In Victoria the industry expanded quickly in the 1870's with employment numbering 1000 by 1887 then increasing 2000 from 1895 to 1900
  • Blast Furnace built
