  • Adobe Photoshop 1.0 released in 1990

    First developed by Thomas and John Knoll, this would become one of the most used programs to this day to edit photos with millions of users using the program every day.
  • World Wide Web launched to the publc

    This would mark the beginning of the internet which is being used today with millions logging on through a computer, smartphone or tablet.
  • Linux introduced

    Created by Linus Torvalds, Linux became one of the earliest known open source software available for PCs.
  • .gov and .org domains introduced

    In 1993, President Bill Clinton helped the White House and United Nations go online by adding .gov and .org domains to the internet.
  • IEEE Wi-Fi standards introduced

    In 1997, the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), rolled out standards for Wi-Fi which would give way to a boom in wireless networking the following years.
