Created by the Japanese government, the Earth Simulator is a massively parallel, vector-based system. It costs roughly $600 million. The housing it was in, was built using a seismic isolation system that used rubber supports, to protect it from earthquakes. The Earth Simulator was the top fast supercomputer in the world from 2002 to 2004.

I got my first phone when I was 8. I got it on my birthday from my Oma. My parents didn't think I was old enough to receive one, but they let me have it anyway. It was an iPhone 3, which was the first iPhone created. It changed the way I could contact my family and friends, the way I could go on the internet, etc. Doing this definitely affected my future as a teenager.

I got my first tablet first Christmas. It was an Apple iPad that I still use today. It changed the way I read, watched TV, etc. Before I had an iPad, I had an iPod, so I could now do more than just listen to music.
