Christopher Columbus was born born between August 26 and October 31 of 1451

Columbus had first set sea as a teenager in 1472. He was in many trading voyages in the Mediterranean seas. One of his voyages to the island in modern day Greece brought him his closet to Asia as he would ever be.

His first voyage in 1476 into the Atlantic ocean almost costed him his life. He was sailing and was attacked by french privateers.

Columbus was rejected by the king for a three year voyage of discovery. Columbus took his plan first to Genoa and then to Venice but he was also rejected there too.

In 1492 King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain finally give Christopher Columbus the money and ships for his expedition. The names of the 1497 Christopher Columbus Ships were the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria.

Columbus died on may 20, 1506. He died in Spain from a heart failure. When he died he was 55 years old.
