  • Jamestown

    1607 Jamestown became the very first english settlement. Jamestown was located in Virginia . The europeans decided to name the river the Jamestown river after king james 1.

  • New england

    In 1620 the pilgrims wanted to separte from the church of england . They traveled to the new world for religious freedom. The purtan also wanted to separate ,but they wanted purify everything.They wanted to have more rules and be very strict with people.

  • Massachusetts bay

    Many people left england to settle in the massachusetts bay colony in the 1630's.Because so many people moved during this time ,it is know as the great migration.In 1630 jhon winthrop led a group of puritans to settle the new england area.

  • Rhode island 1636

  • French and Indiand war 1754 1763

    1754-1763 The british settled and moved west into ohio river valley but the frech and indians were already settled ther . They wanted the british out of america !

  • Stamp act 1765

    All paper materials in the british colonies had to carry a british stamp .This money would go pay for the french and indian war.The king repealed the stamp act in 1768.
