    Colette age 12, is working on homework and her parents sit down and assist her. They continue to help her every night, as the days progress she is able to understand the work and excel in subjects making her confident in mastering future subjects. The crisis is how someone is able to excel and gains motivation to continue (industry), or inferiority, which is they become unmotivated to continue for the lack of mastering a task.

    Colette age 28, decides begin volunteering at the local soup kitchen. Erickson's stage 7, generativity versus stagnation A crisis where one thinks about others and their future, generativity. They do their part in aiding the community. An individual who goes through stagnation tends to their need only.
