Germany starts WW1

Apr 22, 1915

Germans fire chlorine gas at the allies. This is the first time that large gas canasters were fired at soldiers. However they were still unable to break the barrier.

Zimmerman Telegram

Feb 25, 1917

Germany asks mexico to join the war with them. They promis that if they win then mexico can have the United States. This is what causes the U.S. to join the war.

Submarin shot- Theo

Mar 11, 1917

a Submarin shot a torpedo at us at 8 bells while i was on guard. The boat changed coarse so fast that I nearly fell down stairs. all the mess tables slid and we dropped several bombs.

Liver Pool-Theo

We took a short hike through Liver Pool. We had seen many sights. There were to many dirty begger kids.

Trains- Theo

Mar 15, 1917

Hiked to lee Harvey. Took a train for Three days and two nights. landed at Guer and stayed till june 8.

U.S. enters WW1

The U.S enters world war 1. We become allies with Britian and France. We help in the fight against Germany

Got up at 6:30 today. The earliest for a long time. We went to the gas house to test our gas masks. The germans made a full retreat.

Germany and Russia Become Allies

Germany signs a peace treaty with the bolshevik Government. There is peace on the eastern front. This will cause problems for the Allies.

Chateau Thierry

Americans attack Germany Chateau Thierry. The Germans had gotten very angry because of this. This battle will have morphed into a larger battle.

Battle of Belleau Wood

Jun 6, 1918

The battle of Belleau Wood started when the U.S. attacked Germany. This battle was fought in an oppen feild of wheat. This suffered large amounts of casualties.

Wilhelm abdicates

Jun 9, 1918

This ends all German hopes for the war. Kaiser and his retinue slip into the Netherlands. He lives the rest of his life in peace.

Belleau wood ends

Jun 26, 1918

This was the furthest German advance on Paris. They hand changed hands 6 times. Nearly 10,000 American casualties.

Battle of St. Miniel

Sep 12, 1918

This Begins with 300,000 U.S. troops under Commad of Pershing. Filed into German lines. The U.S. ended up winning the battle of St. Miniel.

Armistice Day

Nov 11, 1918

The treaty is signed that ends World War 1. Both sides of the war are happy for this. Peace has come back to us.
