    Carbon dioxide wasn't the only thing causing global warming. In 1859 John Tyndall found out that human emissions of coal gas was a big impact to climate change around the world. Also in 1973 a British scientist by the name James Lovelock found that chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs was causing global warming as well. A molecule of CFC can absorb infrared radiation 10,000 times better than carbon dioxide. In 1985 scientists concluded that a mixture of methane and CFCs can be just as a big as a impact

    The first Industrial Revolution starts to change climate. Coal, railroad, and land clearing increase greenhouse gases in the air. The mean global temperature at this time was 13.6 C. An American scientist discovered that cutting half of the CO2 from the air would cause another ice age and doubling it would increase the earth 5-6 C. A Swedish scientist then found out about this global warming and became educated of the carbon cycle.

    Many things are changing the sea level such as: thermal expansion of seawater, melting of glaciers, and groundwater storage. Also when the carbon in the air rises the carbon in water rises causing more global warming. Ocean water is covering the land and there are less plants to turn carbon into oxygen. The temperature is changing and causing plants to die everywhere and now there is more carbon in the air than oxygen.

    The rapid loss of ice in the arctic is just another proved fact that the climate around the world is changing. Seawater ice is frozen water that floats on the sea and it covers millions of miles. In the arctic is is common for the ice to stay year round but in the Antarctic the ice melts and then reappears annually. We have been able to see from a satellite that the ice is disappearing. At the rate of 11.5 per decade, is how much ice we are losing between the years 1979 to 2000.

    Radiation forcing is used to measure the effect that human activities has on global warming. It also measures the incoming and out coming of energy in the Earth-atmosphere system. A positive radiation forcing will warm up the planet when a negative forcing will cool down the earth. Radiation forcing has a few contributing factors such as: sea level rise, climate extremes, decrease in arctic ice extent, carbon dioxide, methane, CFCs, and glacier retreat. We can see this data from 1979.

    When a volcano erupts, gases are released into the air and cause the earth to cool down. Mount Pinatubo erupted in 1991 and the earth dropped about 0.5 C. Some eruptions known as large igneous provinces can lead to global warming. Carbon dioxide can be released from the Earth's crust and mantle. Emission of carbon dioxide from volcanoes is equal to 3 to 5 days of human emission.

    Glaciers are effected highly in global warming. Tempature changes how much precipitation and how much snow melts. This is suppose to equal out and not created a problem. New snow isnt falling and the glaciers are melting and nothing is replacing them. The glaciers started to melt in 1940s and stayed stable in 1920s and 1970s and started melting again in 1980s to now.
