    Northwest Ordinance
    A law passed in 1787 to regulate the settlement of the Northwest Territory. This was important because it divided states into the middle west. This connects to politics and peopling because it provided self-goverment in those states along with religious freedm and the option of slavery.
  • Louisiana Purchase

    Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana Purchase was when the U.S. bought the land the land extending from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains for 15 million dollars. This is significant because it doubled the size of the U.S. This falls into the BAGPIPE of geography because the U.S was gaining land, peopling because the new land was avaliable for people to move to, and politics because Jefferson wanted to buy the land because ohe had the power to buy it and it was a good deal..
  • Missouri Compromise

    Missouri Compromise
    Missouri was the only exception of the Louisiana Purchase for being a slave state. This was important because the North and South agreed on Missouri being a slave state and the rest of the land purchased would be free states. This falls into the peopling catigory because it allowed slaves to be free in some states and it also political because both the north and the south legislators had to compromise.

    Congress allowed Texas to admitted it to the Union as the 28th state. This was important because the U.S gained more land and it also lead to Mexico and Texas arguing over the border, therefore tensions arose. The BAGPIPEs the Annexation of Texas falls under is geography, politics, and peopling. It is in these catagories because the U.S added land(geography), which brought new people in to the United Staes(peopleing), and President Polk allowed Texas to join the U.S(political).

This was important because it allowed slaves to escape slavery and begin a new life in the North.     The Compromise of 1850 is made up of multiple compromises like California wanting to be apart of the United States as a free state, the land from the Mexican Cession becoming Utah and New Mexico,and the fugitive slave act. This is significant to the Civil War because The BAGPIPE the Compromise of 1850 lead to slavery being a topic for discussion amont the Northern and Southern states.

    This was a Supreme Court case that stated that slaves were not citizens and that the Missouri Compromise was unconstitional. This case is important to history because it helped slaves have a voice when it came to them becoming free. This helped start the origress of slaves becoming free and allowed rights. The BAGPIPE this case falls under would be peopling and politics/politics because the court had the power to give slaves a voice in politics.
