  • Compromise of 1850

    This is was to go against the Missiouri Compromise. It said that Californa could join the Union as a free state. This made 16 free states and 15 slave states. The South got to go it to the North to retrieve their slaves because the North had more representives in the Union.
  • Kansas/Nebraska Act

    This act allowed those in Kansas chose weather they want to be a slave state or a free state. They would chose this though popular sovereignty.
  • Lincoln/Douglas Debates

    These debates were to see who would be senator for Illinois.

    Thou he the run for senate, the debates made him the leader of the Republics.
  • Jonh Brown's Raid on Harper's Ferry

    John Brown with his five sons and some other people. They raided the weapon inventory trying to get weapons to the slave. They were expecting the slaves to come and help. The slave did not come to help John Brown. Most of the people died including his kids. John Brown was caught and hung.
  • Election of Lincoln

    Election of Lincoln
    Lincoln was elected in the November of 1860. He won this election because of the debates he had two years earlier. Those debates made him better known.
