Missouri Compromise of 1850
The Missouri compromise happened in 1850. It was created by Henry Clay and it declared all new dates for north would be known as free states while new ones from south would permit slavery. It was originally made to avoid the conflict between missouri and maine for the balance of free and slaves states by eventually ended up contribution to the civil war.
