    Northerners support abolitionists for trying to end slavery. Southerners despise them for trying to end slavery and ending their power over them.

    Nat Turner started a rebellion and it failed and they died in a "Trial" but the slave owners was scared so they made stricter rules like the slave codes. North saw this as not fair and mean. South saw this a necessary decision to do.

    The South are happy that slave have to come back to their owners. The north are mad about being forced to go back to slavery.

    The congress decided if states can be a free state or a slave state. This law made it official if a state can be free or not. Confusion over the results of votes and caused a three year long war in Kansas.

    The North thinks African Americans should be citizens. The South does not want African Americans as Citizens.

    John Brown started a rebellion and tried to get slaves to join him, The rebellion fails, but he is viewed as a hero in the north and south sees him as a murderer or terrorist

    The South states left the Union and formed the confederates. The North stayed in the Union.
