Nat Turner's Rebellion
In August of 1831 a slave named Nat Turner incited an uprising that spread throgh several plantations in Virginiakilled around sixity white people. Fifty five slaves including Turner were executed. two hundred more were lynched later. -

Henry clay offered proposals so that they made more bills regarding terrritory won in the Mexican-American war. -
Uncle Tom's cabin
Harriet Beecher Stowe's fictional exploration of a slave life opened the eyes of northerners. Uncle Toms Cabin was the second most selling book at the time only behind the Bible. -
Bleeding Kansas
Kansas-Nebraska act of 1854, it allowed settlers in two territories to permit slavery. It barely passes congress. Settlers faught the house party. -
Lincoln's Election
Lincoln was elected in 1860. As a republican, he was anti-slavery and struck fear in southerners. On December 20th of that year, the polls closed and South Carolina left the union.
