This allowed for the capture and return of runaway slaves and imposed penalties.,harsh punishments for interfering in captures.Anti-slavery forces were upset of possible slavery expansion.Not everyone agreed with the new laws being made so it created more chaos leading to other solutions that werent the smartest decisions because it started the civil war. -

This decision was affirming the right of slave owners to take their slaves into the western territories.Created more tension between the North and South whcih would erupt into war later on. -
John Browns Raid
Small army of 18 men into Harpers Ferry,plan to create a rebellion in the south.Didnt have it planned so well but it did succeed to make the separation of the North and South deeper.Some people believe Lincoln supported his intentions

Election;Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln wins the election,and prohibites slavery in new states and territories.It was an immediate of the civil war,broke Democratic party into Northern and Southern.Majority of electoral votes were for Lincoln almost no support from the South.The party politics had become another issue to figth for.
