  • The Missouri Compromise

    Missouri would be registered as a slave star by permission of congress on the terms that every state North of a borderline put in place would remain free states permanently
  • Indian Removal Act

    A "treaty"/act signed by President Andrew Jackson Granting the Natives unsettled land in the West in exchange for the land they inhabited in the South East and across America that went unhonored and then served to begin the trail of tears.
  • Nat Turner Rebellion

    A slave revolt led by Nat Turner and one of the only slave rebellions of the time to actually have any real effect rather than being taken down and ignored
  • Texas Annexation

    Texas officially became a part of the United States of America rather than being an independent republic. Although, it would soon leave in order to keep slavery a part of it and join the confederacy.

    Given to the United States of America after the Mexican American war through the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (modern day Southwestern region of the United States)

    The novel written by Harriet Teacher Stowe,with strong themes and opinions on topics such as abolition, that was made to help white people understand what slavery was like and why it should be abolished.
  • Kansas Nebraska Act

    An act passed by congress to let the people Kansas and Nebraska decided amongst themselves if they wanted to be free or slave states that led to mass migration towards the areas in order to get slavery legalized there.
  • Dred Scott Case

    A big shove in thew direction of the quickly up and coming civil war, The Dred Scott case declared that he was not allowed his freedom and that the Missouri compromise years earlier, was unconstitutional
