    they alowed missouri to be a slave state but to keep it equal they made maine a free state and also they made it that slavery is legal south of the 36 30
  • American Anti Slavery Society

    The ablitionist created a group to spread the anti slavery message but many slavery supporters killed them and burned their phamplets. At 1838 they had 250000 supporters.

    It removed the mississippi comprimise and it allowed the states to vote for slavery this was made byStephen A. Douglas
  • Bleeding Kansas

    Because of the kansas nebraska act the people moved to kansas to influence slavery and many of the people who didn't want slavery killed the newcomers. Nearly 200 people died
  • Dred Scott desicion

    A slave was trying to sue his master because he was taking him to a free state, but they went to the supreme court and they ruled scott out, they also came up that any state could become a slave state and no slave can be a citezen
  • John brown raid

    He raided the citites with 22 other people and he kidnapped the most important people but within a day he was captured and hung.
  • Election of Abraham Lincoln

    Most southerns didn't wan't abe to win and they hated him because they thought he would try and end slavery

    when abe became president many of the states started to secede of the fear that he would abolish slavery the states that left were Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
  • Fort Sumter

    When Lincoln took office, he said that no state is lawfully allowed to leave the country, but that he would not fight a war unless the South started the war. Believing they were now their own country, southerners began to take control of federal buildings in the South such as forts. When the Confederates (the South) attacked Fort Sumter in South Carolina, Lincoln called on federal troops to take back the fort. This event marks the beginning of the Civil War.
