    Far right extremist organization that promotes white supremacy, white nationalism and anti-immigration. The Klan has been involved with acts of aggression and terrorism, and advocates a strong rebellion against authority. Known as "the Hate Group", Klan members don a white gown with a matching conical cap for rituals. There are three seperate clans and 5,000 members exist in the KKK today.

    Jackie Roosevelt Robinson, born in Cairo, Georgia, was raised by sharecroppers. He excelled early at all sports and learned to make his way in life. He attended UCLA and was the first athlete to earn varsity letters in 4 sports: baseall, basketball, football and track. He played one season for the Negroe Baseball League in 1945 and was asked to join the Brookland Dodgers. He married Rachael Isum on February 10th, 1946.

    Born as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, Malcolm Little, an African American Muslim preacher and human rights activist, was known to advocate black supremacy and anti-semitism. At 20, Malcolm went to jail for breaking and entering. While in jail, Malcolm converted to the Nation of Islam, known for promoting segregation. Malcolm led the nation within 5 years, but left after 12. He was assassinated by the group a year later.

    Martin Luther King Jr. was an African American Baptist Minister and civil rights activist. He led the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the March on Washington, where he gave his famous "I have a dream..." speech. MLK Jr. also founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. MLK Jr. was assassinated on April 4th, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.

    The Black Panther Party was an African American revolutionary leftist organization. The Party was originally created for the protection of African American civilian neighborhoods from police brutality. The Party also organized several programs for low income African American neighborhoods, including the Free Breakfast for Children program. The Party gained a violent reputation and dissolved in 1982.

    Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States on January 20th, 2009. Obama was the first African American to be elected as a US President. Obama was born in Hawaii to a father from Kenya and a mother from Kansas. He was previously the State Senator for Illinois and ran for a seat in the House of Representatives. Obama won the Noel Peace Prize in 2009, following his inauguration.
