    The Brown case served as a catalyst for the modern civil rights movement, it inspired education reform everywhere and made changes to the legal means of challenging segregation in all areas of society. After the brown case, the nation made great strides toward opening the doors of education to all students.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott 1955-1956

    Montgomery Bus Boycott 1955-1956
    African Americans refused to ride city buses in Montgomery, Alabama, to protest segregated seating. Four days before the boycott began, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery bus. The goal of this boycott was to have the busses integrated, and they finally were after a 381 day court hearing.

    A march for jobs that took place in Washinton D.C, with around 250,000 People attending, led by MLK
  • Civil Rights Act

    outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, this was important because now the discrimination is illigal so people cant do it. President Johnson was the president to pass the law, despite Kennedy's death.

    Gave African American men the right to vote, President Johnson put it into place, it was importnant because it gave african americans the right to vote
  • Assassination of MLK

    He was a MAJOR role in the movement because he was the leader through everything and he thought all good things for everyone of all races to be integrated. RIP to him he was missed and still strongly is
