    Chistopher Columbus was born and later on began to participate in trading voyages as a teenager. His first experience was in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas which later impacts to why he had interest in exploring .

    Early Life
    Columbus worked on a merchant ship in the Alantic Ocean where later was attacked from French privateers off the coast of Portugal. This led to his studies on mathematics, astronomy, cartography and navigation in Lisbon. Christopher's plan was beginning to hatch in where the world would change.

    First Voyage
    Columbus began to have ideas on how to reach Asia and the spanish monarchs, Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile made it happen since they were seeking for fortune. Both monarchs wanted an opportunity to export Catholicism around the globe and Columbus was going to earn 10% of the fortune that was found for the monarchs.

    The Encounter
    Christopher sailed with his crew taking three ships to Asia ,but ended up reaching the Caribbean. Columbus seeked for merchandise and encountered a group of natives who exchaged some of their goods.

    Returning
    Columbus returned to the Americas and found the Hispaniola destroyed ,so Christopher continued his search for gold with couple of natives along on the ship.

    Third Voyage

    Third Voyage
    Columbus heads toward the Canary Islands with six ships and sends ships to Hispaniola because they were looking for supplies. While other ships would explore the Carribean since Columbus thought their was a route to the orient. Later on, the Island of Margarita and the Orinoco River were discovered. On August, Christopher Columbus fell ill and ordered to head back to Hispaniola.

    Conflict
    Hispaniola was going through some rough times by going low on supplies and tempers.Columbus was a poor governor and settlers complained, so he decided to head to spain for some assistance. Columbus was arrested by Bodadilla because he heard about the poor governence. Christopher was sent back to Spain with his brothers in chains and were jailed for six weeks.

    Fourth Voyage
    Columbus arranged his fouth and final voyage to the New World and his mission was to explore the unknown areas of the Western Caribbean with his four ships. During this time Columbus was no longer welcomed on the island of Hispaniola due to the cruel and ineffective administration he caused. Their was word about a storm approaching.

    Central America
    The hurricane damaged the ships which led to Columbus decision to look for a passage west. They eventually landed on the coast of Honduras in Central America. While repairing the ships and exploring Central America they encountered inland civilization who were believed to be Mayan from the Yucatan. These traders had tools, weapons and textiles, but Columbus did not have interest, so they headed south.

    Jamaica

    Jamaica
    While Columbus continued traveling south he reached Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Columbus ended up meeting several native cultures and would sometimes trade if needed. During their discoveries the settlers found termites on their ship which eventually only made it to Jamaica. The ship would no longer go further, so they made shelters out of it and this led to the peace with the natives. In the end they got word to Ovando, but he didn't have the resources to save them until June 1504.
