  • Missouri Compromise

    Missouri Compromise
    The Missouri Compromise allowed Missouri to enter the Union as a slave state. And Maine was amitted as a free state.This way the balence between the slave and free states remained equal.Congress also drew an imaginary line across the Louisiana purchas at latitude at 36 degrees 30'. The states south of this line were open to slavery and the states north of this line were not. This comprmise postponed the civil war because is settled the desputes between the north and south.

    Compromise of 1850
    The Compromise of 1850 amitted California to the Union as a free state. To do this there were other agreements made, including allowing New Maexico and Utah to decide weather the want to be a free or slave state. The Compromise of 1850 also outlawed the slave trade in Washington, D.C., and created a stronger fugitive slave law. This event made the south mad because they did not want Californa to become a free state because the state was mostly south of the Lousiania Purchase.

    The Kanasa-Nebraska Act created the Kanasa and Nebraska territories. This act alsoabloished the missouri Compromise by allowing the settlers to determineweather slavery would be allowed in the new territories. The event led to the civial war because the senate and congress didn't respond well to the act.

    Congress decide that all of the Aferican American will not be considered as citizens of the United States. Due to this Dred Scott waqs not allowed to go on a trial because he wants his freedom. Dred Scott's care was ended when congress decides to ingore the rest of his case and told him that he doesn't have those rights.

    The election of 1860 was an election mainly between two people, Abraham Lincon and Stephen Douglas. The republicans voted for Lincon and all of the other voters voted for Douglas. There were debates between the two of them. Douglas beleved that the contry van be seperated between the noth and the south and Lincon believed that all of the ew states should be free states. This also sparked problems becaus ehte noth and shout weren't agreeing on slavery problem.

    This attack continued fro 33 hours of non stop battle.The battle wass between the confederates and the union. The north surrendeded to the south and they sparked war, thius battle was hte main reason for the uncoming war.
