  • Civil War Ends

This officilally ends the Civil War.This caused John Wilkes to become aggravated because he was a loyal follower of the Confederate states, This occured one week after the Confederate capital -Richmond, Virginia- fell
  • Washington Celebrates

    All of the union capital, Washington, is in celebration because of the Union Victory. There is a grand, and festive atmosphere throughout the entire city. There is also a grand parade that passes in front of the Executive Mansion (White House).
  • Lincoln gets shot

    Ford's theatreOn the evening of April 14, 1865 at Ford's Theatre around 10 P.M., the sixteenth president - Abraham Lincoln - was shot while watching the comedy "Our American Cousin" He was shot with a deringer psitol, the bullet enterd through the lower left, back side of head and reached the back of his eye. In the theatre, he was in the Presindent's box with his wife and Major Henry Rathborne and his wife.
  • Lincoln Dies

    Abraham Lincoln dies at the Petersen House- across the street from Ford's Theatre. He died at around 7:22 A.M. Lincoln was transported to the Executive Mansion in a plain pine box- Lincoln loved simplicity, it was then wrapped in an American flag.Also, there was no drumming, bands, or trumpeters.
  • Mudd's Farmhouse

    In the predawn of April 15, Booth and Herold finally reachesd their first safe-haven; Mudd's farm. Here they were fed and were able to rest, While they rested , the first cavalry patrol would ride down from Washington into Maryland, where Mudd's farm was located. The Thirteenth New York Cavalry would go to Mudd's Farm, but by that time Booth and Herold would've escaped.
  • Black Easter

    On Easter Sunday of 1865, Washington went from rejoicing to mourning. All around the country, ministers stayed up all night to write prayers, for the newly deceased Lincoln. In the earlier part of the day, Booth and Herold reached their second safe-haven, the Cox House. The Cox house has was owned by Samuel Cox, a fellow, loyal Confederate member,
  • Two Left

    By this date, all of Booth's helpers and henchmen have been captured. This includes Mary Surratt, Lewis Powell, and George Azerodt. All of these people were somehow involved in Lincoln's Assasination. The only people who weren't captured were Booth, himself, and David Herold. A big reward was in place for the people who could find them,
  • Booth and Herold cross the Potomac

    Potomac RiverOn April 25, 1865; John Wilkes Booth and Herold crossed the Potomac River, from Maryland into Virginia. Their first attempt resulted in them getting lost. Therefore, they had to wait until nightfall once again to get to their final safe-haven. Then they used the Potomac River once again to get to Garret's Farm.
  • Booth is Found

    On the twelfth day of the manhunt for Booth, he is found at John Garret's tobacco house. The Sixeenth New York Calvary arrived for Booth at around 12:30 A.M. Booth refused to surrender, but Herold did right away. The Cavalry was forced to inflame the tobacco house, and then finally- Booth ran out of it in critical condition. He finally died minutes later after a soldier shot him (Booth told the soldier to because he was in so much pain, Booth also did not want to suffer tthough the trials).
  • Hung

    On July 7,1865 four of Booth's helpers and henchmen were hung. The four included Mary Suratt, Lewis Powell, David Herold, George Atzerdot. It was considered the climax of the manhunt for Lincoln's Assasin.
