  • First Female Officer

    First Female Officer
    This event shows that women are able to work in jobs that require enforcement and jobs that are considered male jobs.
  • 1930's

    1930's
    In the 1930's almost eleven million women were employed
    (24.3 % of all women). Three out of ten of these working women were in domestic or personal service and more than half of all employed women worked more than fifty hours a week at half the salary of men.
  • Civil RIghts

    Civil RIghts
    The CIvil Rights Act of 1964 forbade discrimination on the basis of sex as well as race in hiring, promoting, and firing. Thus, meaning women had to be considered for jobs not based on their gemder but on their qualifications.
  • Pregnancy Discrimination Act

    Pregnancy Discrimination Act
    This act was set in place to prohibit sex discrimination on the basis of pregnancy meaning women could not be fired or not hired because of their pregnancy.
  • Female CEO's

    Female CEO's
    Women's roles in the workplace have advanced to such a degree that allows for women to be the Chief Executive Officer within a company. For example: Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCO; Irene Rosenfeld, CEO of Kraft; and Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo.
