Causes of US Entry into WW1

  • Assassination of Archduke Frabz Ferdinand

    On 28 June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir presumptive to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, were shot dead in Sarajevo, by Gavrilo Princip, one ofa group of six assassins.
  • WW1 begins & US reaction

On April 2, President Wilson appeared before Congress and called for a declaration of wat against Germany.

    Unrestricted submarine warfare was first introduced in World War 1 in early 1915, when Germany declared the Area around the British lisles war zone. In which all merchant ships,including those from neutral countries would be attacked by German.
  • Sinking of the Lusitania

    The Lusitania ferried people and goods across the Atlantic, between the United States and Great Britain, was torpedoed by German boat and sunk of the 1,959 people on board including 128 americans. The sinking of the Lusitania enraged Americans and hastened USA entrance to World War 1
  • Pancho Villa raids Mexico

    Pancho Villa raids Mexico
    Villa kidnapped 18 Americans from Mexican train on Janaury 1916, few weeks later Villa led army about 1,500 guerillas across the border to stage a brutal raid against a small American town which was Colombus, New Mexico. Villa and his army killed 19 people and left the town in flames.
