The compromise allowed these fives laws to be in act. California becoming a free state, the strengthening of the slave act, allowing popular sovereignty in Utah and New Mexico concerning the question of slavery, the abolition of the slave trade in the north, and the fixing of Texas's debt.

Southern Secession
Who does the event involve? Lincoln, the north and the south.
What took place in the event? We sent forces to help people at fort Sumter and then south carolina seceded, soon after that six more states seceded. The six other states were: Alibama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texis.

The south did not agree with the north's laws so they seceded.
