    Missouri Compromise
    The Missouri Compromise was the Second cause of the Civil War. This cause dealt with having balance of power in the Senate. The Northerners wanted Missouri added as a Free State so it would stop the spread of slavery into the Louisiana Territory. The Southerners wanted Missouri added as a Slave State because it would create more Slave States than Free. Another reason why they wanted Missouri as a Slave State was because the North could abolish Slavery if Missouri went to the North.

    The Dred Scott Decision was the third cause of the Civil War. Dred Scott convinced his owner to take him to the Northern states. Meaning that when he reached the States that he was a free man. The owner disagreed and took Dred Scott to court. The case ended up making it to the Supreme Court. But the Court ruled that Dred Scott was still property to his owner. After the case Slavery could now exist Everywhere in the United States.

    The Compromise of 1850 was the Fourth cause of the Civil War. This Compromise made California a Free state but they in favor of the Slave States they made a law that all the Slaves that made it to the Northern States, would have to be brought to their owner. So if a Slave planned to run away, they would have to go all the way to canada.

    Uncle Tom's Cabin was the Fifth cause of the Civil War. Uncle Tom's Cabin was a very popular book that was written by Harriet Beecher Stowe. The book kept Europe out of the American Civil War by turning the people against the South. This happend by telling Europe how their cotton that they were recieving was being produced. By Slave labor.

    The Sixth Cause of the Civil War is the Kansas-Nebraska Act. The Kansas-Nebraska Act was when physical violence broke out between the two states because of their beliefs in slavery. The outcome of this act led to the creation of the Republican Party.

    The Seventh cause of the Civil War was the Lincoln-Douglas Debates. This Debate helped Lincoln make a name of himself in the Republican Party; even if he lost the Debate. He is recognized as a strong Republican after the Debate. This eventually helps him win the Presidency in 1860.

    John Brown's Raid on Harper's Ferry was the Eighth cause of the Civil War. John Brown was a Radical Abolitionis that thought of a plan to attack a US arsenal, gain control of large numbers of weapons, use them to arm slaves, and hopes to start a huge slave revolt across the South. His team and him failed to take over the arsenal, and were sentenced to death. Even though they failed their objective, Brown was viewed as a hero of the Northern States. This made the Southern States shocked.

    The Ninth cause of the Civil War was the Election of Abraham Lincoln. Even though 60% of the United States were Against him in his presidency, he succeeded at gaining presidency of the United States. This helped the Northern States by having a Strong Republican on their side.

This began the Civil War. This War was known as the Brother vs. Brother War because the United States were having a War against itself. By the end of the War Slavery will be abolished and the North and South will become one again.
