  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 did not allow the colonist to settle in the west of the Appalachian Mountains. The British were afraid they would have to spend more money on the colonist if they were in a fight with the Native Americans.Those who had already settled west of the mountains had to move back to the east where they lived before. The colonist however believed that they should be able to live on that land since they fought and almost died for the right to live on the land.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The British are taxing the colonist to make up for all the money that they lost during the French and Indian War. Along with money they spend on weapons and supplies for the colonist. The British taxed imported good such as sugar, wines, Indigo, coffee, and textiles.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    Although the colonist had been taxed before with the Sugar Act this was more directly taxing the colonist. During this act printed materials were required to be stamped in order to show that they were taxed properly. These printed materials are cards, bills, newspapers, pamphlets, legal documents, almanacs, and licenses. Those who were most effected by this joined together and started to protest.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act is the a part of the Intolerable Acts. This act allowed the royal British troops to be able to live in empty building if there was no brackets available. These troops were also able to live in the houses of the colonist without having to pay rent of buy food.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    A mob of colonist started to throw sticks and stones at British soldiers daring them to fire their guns. When the British did fire three colonist died, deadly wounding two, while injuring six colonist. However the British and colonist both have two different perspective how this event went down. The British wrote that the colonist had started a riot and threw threats at the British soldiers. While the colonist said that the British opened fired without warning or reason.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    A group of colonist calling themselves the "Sons of Liberty" went onto a ship that contained forty-five tons of tea dressed as Mohawk Indians. The "Sons of Liberty" were a group of men who protested against taxing the colonist because they are not represented in the British government. They protested by throwing that forty-five tons of tea into the ocean afterwards the taxes went to pay for all the tea that was lost.
  • The Boston Port Act

    The Boston Port Act
    The Boston Port Act is a part of the Intolerable Acts that happens after The Boston Tea Party. The British closed down the Massachusetts port and moved it to a different location Marblehead. The British also move the capital of Massachusetts to Salem as well. Because the port was the main way the people of Massachusetts collects their money from many of the colonist had to move away and look for jobs to provide for their families.
  • The Massachusetts Regulating Act

    The Massachusetts Regulating Act
    The Massachusetts Regulating Act is the another part of the Intolerable Acts. In this act all law officers were able to band town meeting if they didn't have the approval of the royal governor.
  • The Impartial Administration of Justice Act

    The Impartial Administration of Justice Act
    The Impartial Administration of Justice Act is also one of the Intolerable Acts. This act allowed the royal governor of any colony if there is a trial to move the trial to another place if he/she believed it would not be fair.
  • The Quebec Act

    The Quebec Act
    The Quebec act was the final part of the Intolerable Act. It granted the Catholics of Quebec religious freedom and a civil government. Instead of Massachusetts which made many Catholics angry at the British along with other colonists.
