The proposal of having a solved problem for arguments over north and south about banning slavery. The Northerners and Southerners were very violent to each other which this proposal stopped. All Northerner and southerner were involved in this event and this took place in the Congress. -

The slaves were involved in this event. The slaves who were accused of running away were imprisoned which this act caused a lot of destruction in north but south were in development and it affected the north a lot because many freed slaves were accused of being southern slaves. -
Uncle Tom’s Cabin
The slaves, northerners, and southerners were involved in this event. A novel was published which told the truth of slavery in Cincinnati, Ohio because Harriet wanted people to know how bad slavery is. The novel was published because of the arguments on slavery in the country but it affected the broken relationship of north and south to break more. -
Kansas Nebraska Act / Bleeding Kansas
The slaves, northerners, and southerners were involved in this event. The act allowed the territories to choose by voting whether they wanted to be a slave state or free state but this started a fight, which broke a war in Kansas which people called Bleeding Kansas, because northerners and southerners wanted their own majority vote, and also because the south wasn’t allowing Kansas to be one of the slave states because it is located on the north side. -
Dred Scott Case
Dred Scott and his owner are involved in this event. Dred wanted to sue his owner but he couldn't. This happened in Missouri. This took place Because Dred lived with his owner as a slave in 2 places where slavery was illegal so he thought that he was a free man but when he took his case to the court he wasn’t allowed to sue his owner because he wasn’t a US citizen. The case caused a lot of trouble for slaves and northerners. -
Lincoln Douglas Debate
Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas are involved in this event. These two people debated on their own thoughts about slavery and the debates became very famous and this took place in Illinois. It took place because Lincoln and Douglas wanted to put their own thoughts and win the presidency. This debate caused Lincoln to win the electoral vote and win the presidency but it affected the united states but he states secession. -
John Brown’s Raid
John Brown and the slaves were involved in this event. John supplied the slaves with weapons and wanted to start a slave revolt in Harpers Ferry, Virginia. It took place because John Brown was motivated by the bible to do so and he also wanted to stop slavery. This raid caused a lot of disturbance in north and south and affected the relationship of north and south -
Lincoln’s Election of 1860
Lincoln was involved in the elections. Lincoln got elected in Illinois. The southern states said he got lucky because he was from the northern republic party so it was very easy for him to win the electoral votes. This caused the southern states to separate from united states but it affected the united states -
Southern Secession
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas are involved in this secession. The seven states separated from the union. It happened because Abraham Lincoln became the president . This caused less population in the union and it affected the balance of free and slave states
