As her Brith name was Arminta Tubman she was born into slavery in 1819. She married a free African American man named John Tubman at the age of 25. She Worked as a Solider, Conducter, and Spy. Her goal was to free as many slaves as she could to Canada Know as the free land. -
Fugitive Slave Act
Passed in 1850 this law allowed anyone to arrest Slaves that they thought to be run away slaves. The slaves could be arrested with out any warrant. -

Half of the States agreed in being a slave state while the orhter half did not agree. John Brown was also amajor factor in Bleeding Kansas He killed about 10 men in order to fight for what he thought was right he was then found and killed because of his actions. -
Dred Scott V. Sandford
Dred Scott a former slave was brought to Ilinois making him a free slave into Illinois. The major issue was that Dred was not consired a free slave because Congress said that No slave could ever and will not ever be a US citizen. -
The Election of 1860
The Election was Steohan Douglas V. Aberham Lincoln, the winning Result was Lincoln making many southerns feraful about there ecomony since all slaves were going to be set free and no longer allowed. Lincoln also passed a law called the Emancipation Proclomation in 1863. -
The Civil war
The war lasted from 1861 to 1865 it started because the nirht and the south did not like the idea of having slavery and not having slavery. The Union won the Confederacy Resulting in a Nation with slavery not allowed.
