In 1880 Carrie graduated from Iowa Agucultirul College. She was a teacher in Sigourney, Iowa. She then became the pricipal at a High School in Mason City, Iowa and eventually became Superintendent.

Catt was elected president of the National American Women Suffragist Association.

In 1904 Carrie resigned from the NWSA. She was soon elected to be the president of the IWSA (International Women Suffrage Alliance)

The house and the senate both passed a bill putting and end to women's suffrage.

Catt retired from president of the IWSA.

Catt collected 10,000 signitures of women to protest the treatment of Jews in Germany.

The United Nations was established.

Carrie died on March 9. She was buried at Woodland Cementary, Bronx, New York.
