If there was no storm to throw them off their course, De Vaca would have never explored Texas. They made it back to Cuba successfully. They decided to sail back to Florida in an attempt to explore it.

They reached the indians in Florida. The leader of De Vaca, Narvez, immediately forced the indians to tell them where the can find riches. They were tortured because they were saying that they knew of no gold.

Narvez noticed that De Vaca was getting along with the indians. Narvez was afraid, and he decided to kill De Vaca and his men as a punishment for helping the indians. Narvez burned De Vaca and his men on stakes. The indians were sorrowful and were weeping.

Narvez searched all of Florida looking for gold. He tortued indians and explored all of Florida with no luck.

Narvez sailed from Florida to Spain. He wondered what he was going to say to the king and queen.

Narvez told the queen that Florida has no gold, has mean idians, and has harsh land. He told the queen not to spend money for further exploration.
