    The Oregon Territory was split in two. The larger northern of the two is now mostly BC. The rest of the Oregon Territory is now Washington. James Polk, the American President, was promoting the idea so that America's border can be expanded.

    Started off as Fort Victoria. much like the mainland, it suffered through massive debt and was united with the mainland by Britain to try and kill two birds with one stone. Shame that it didn't kill even one of them
