Boko Haram is formed
[Creation of Boko Haram](www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13809501) In 2002 the group known as Boko Haram (Boko Haram meaning western education is forbidden) was founded by Mohammed Yusuf in the city of Maiduguri, Nigeria. Its aim is to establish a shari'a government in Nigeria. To gain support, Yusuf constructed a Mosque and school for the poor childern of the city. -
Bauchi prison break

It was not untill the Government of Nigeria recived reports branding them a millitant group, and that they were arming themselves. The government then arrested several of its members in Bauchi. Fiffty members of the Boko Haram then attacked the police station, using fuel laden motorcycles and poison tipped arrows to attack the police station. Mohammed Yusuf was one of the members arrested and was killed while in police containment 800 others were killed. -

On the outskirts of Abuja Nigera the Boko Haram set off a bomb in a Nigerian army barracks. Four people were killed in the attack, including a pregnat woman. 26 others were injured. -

It is believed to be the first suicide bombing in Nigerias history. A member of the Boko Haram believed to be trying to kill inspector general of police Hafiz Ringim but was stopped by security before entering the compound. He then detonated the bomb killing himselve and traffic policemen nearby. -

It is believed that the Boko Haram were targeting police officers in the bar. Members of the Boko Haram riding motorcycles through bombs into the bar killing 25 people in the attack. -

A series of assults on christian chruches and businesses were carried out on January 5 and coutinued untill the following day. Over 180 people of the Christian faith were killed in the shootings carried out by the Boko Haram. -
Boko Haram new leadership

Abubakar Shekau posted a video message on youtube claiming that he is the leader of the Boko Haram, and has been ever since the death of the group founder Mohammed Yusuf's death. The authorites had believed that he had been killed along with Yusuf in the violent outbreaks of the group. -

Boko Haram Night time raid

Students from the school of Health Technology and the Adamawa State University in Mubi were killed in commando style raid that took place between the hours of 10-11pm. Members of the Boko Haram killed 46 students by opening fire on them with AK-47's and poisen bows and arrows.
