    Pilgrims settle Plymouth after Mayflower landed with the support of 70 investors, in a different place than destination. In the discovery of this settlement many were granted them religious freedom they were searching for.

    Mayflower Compact
    A set of rules about the self-governance of the new Massachusetts to keep everything in control. A document signed by 41 adult male colonists, of which include 2 indentured servants.

  • Powhatan Indian Massacre

    Powhatan Indian Massacre
    The Powhatan native Americans, led by Openchancanouga, attacked Jamestown because they realized the settlers were intent on turning them all into Christian-English people. The indians had the upper hand in surprise. The Powhatan indians killed 347 settlers, including women and children, and burned plantations in and outside the settlement.

    Virginia Slave Law
    A law stating that a women in the colonies get pregnant with a child, whether slave or white, the child would be whatever status the mother is, no matter the status of the father. Allowing White men to have certain interactions with even slave women and if a child were conceived even with a slave the child itself would be a slave.

    In 1664, James, Duke of York, the Kings brother had been given control of New Netherlands after England chased out the dutch. The name was changed to New York by the King in honor of the death of the duke.

    Bacon's Rebellion
    Nathaniel Bacon gathered other enraged colonists and Indentured servants to fight for the right of even the lower class people, who being treated like slaves. England starts to realize the mistakes they may have made in giving the majority of governing in colonies to the people, bringing in African slave trade.

    Pueblo Revolt
    In the 1680 within the springtime, more than 70 communities of Native Americans revolted against the Spanish because of the forced assimilation and taking away of their native tongue, culture, and religions. The significance of various communities coming together to fight their oppressors after years of being submissive was a rare occasion.

    William Penn and Pennsylvania
    William Penn received a grant from the King of England to settle his own colony in the New England as a prize for helping settle other New England territory disputes. Penn named it Pennsylvania founded in 1682, wrote his own constitution for it and decided it would be a tolerate place for many religions.

  • Leisler's Rebellion

    Leisler's Rebellion
    A German American merchant and militia captain known as Jacob Leisler seized control of the colonies of the south forming a militia and takes control of the provincial government. The event takes place in the Province of New York from 1689 to 1691.   • Salem Witch Trials

    Salem Witch Trials
    A mass hysteria of women accusing other men and women within Colonial Massachusetts of witchcraft broke out in 1692 where 200 people would be accused, 19 executed, and one man crushed to death. Public opinion would overpower Massachusetts General Court but the court would later deem the trials unlawful ending the Salem Witch Trials in 1697.     Also known as the Charter of Liberties created by William Penn granted powers to the colonial Government of Pennsylvania.   • East Jersey and West Jersey Become Crown Colonies

    East Jersey and West Jersey Become Crown Colonies
    Beginning as property colonies, these now Royal Colonies would become powered by King Charles the II surrendering their charter to the crown.     Yamassee War
    A conflict between this Indian tribe and the British colonists in South Carolina is caused by the killing of 90 white men and issues the tribes had within the fur trade. This war ended in South Carolina's military collapsing the Yamassee Indians and their allied tribes and with remaining few fleeing to other areas.   • George I Dies

    George I Dies
    George the I was King of Great Britain and Ireland and ruler in the Holy Roman Empire where his success of European wars expanded his Germain domains. He diminished the monarchy transition to the modern cabinet government and in 1727 died of a stroke.

    Province of Georgia is Founded
    James Oglethorpe founds Georgia also known as one of the Southern Colonies in British America. The colonies corporate charter James would envision this colony as a safe place for the English prisoners and created strict laws that other colonies would disagree with such as banning alcohol.     The Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was an agreement for after the French and Indian war the British were to put a dividing line along the Appalachian Mountains in what is now known as america.
