    This was a war fought between the colonies of British America and New France. This impacted the threat of war in the colonies during the American Revolution.

    This act was intended as a punishment due to the throwing of tea in the harbor. The colonists viewed this as being unfair.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This forced the colonists to pay for food and housing of the British. The colonists felt as if this violated the Bill of Rights.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was an act passed by the British imposed on the colonists. This caused a tax on every piece of paper they used. For example, they had a tax on newspaper, documents, licenses, etc. This was one of the final straws that caused the colonists to revolt.
  • Stamp Act Congress

    Stamp Act Congress
    Merchants and representatives from the colonies had a secret meeting about boycotting the stamp act. The colonists supported this in hopes of getting the act revoked.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    This act imposed taxes on goods imported to colonies including tea and other popular drinks. The sons of liberty protested against the Townshend Act.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was when 5 British soldiers shot and killed 5 Boston residents. This angered the colonists greatly.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act was an act put into place by British Parliament stating that the tax on tea would end.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This was an act of colonists throwing tea into the harbor. They were tired of the high tax on tea. The Tea Act caused them to do this.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    1st Continental Congress
    The 1st Continental Congress is when residents in the colonies finally met together to attempt to create a new government. Residents from all colonies except for Georgia came. This helped in the American Revolution by beggining to settle ourselves away from the British.
