  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    These were the first battles of the Revolutionary War. The british were searching for Samuel Adams and John Hancock. Paul Revere was a rider and rode to lexington and concord to warn the colonists that the british were coming. There were 122 colonists that died during these battles. The british heard that there were waar weapons being hid in Lexington and concord.
  • Battle of Bunker HIll

    This war took place in the year 1775. The commander of the colonial army wa General William Howe. It took three charges of the british toward bunker hill for the colonists to retreat. From the battle of bunker hill 1,054 of the british were either killed or wounded. Plus 500 of the colonists. These deaths of colonists included the death of Paul Revere.
  • Battle of Trenton

    George Washington led the battle of trenton. He crossed the Delaware River to attack the british. On December 26 the Colonial army planned to attack the Hessian. This battle ended in a victory for the american army. Winning this battle gave the colonists Confidence that they might win the war.
  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    The colonists captured fort ticonderoga on the 6th of july in 1777. The British, Hessians, and Brunswickers fought against the american colonists. General Arthur St Clair commanded the american troops. The fort helped the colonists by giving them heavy weapons they needed to get the british out of boston.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    This battle took place in Saratoga on the Hudson River in the state of New York. The Americans Forced the Surrender of The British and German Forces. The American victory convinced the french to recognize the colonists and join them as an ally. The American troops were led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. This was a turning point in the war because it got the french to enter the war.

    Lord Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington and this led to the end of the revolutionary war. The french helped the colonists in this battle to get britain out of america. General Cornwallis was in control of the british in the battle of yorktown. French navy was stationed in the atlantic not letting the commander of the british get in boston.
