    The War for Independence Begins.
    On April 19, 1775 hte first shots of the Revolutionaary war were fired at the battles of Lexington and Concord it all started with a small skyrmish between the Revolutionaries and the British soldiers. The British lost a total of 297 meanwhile the Colonist lost a total of 88. The colonist were surprised by their succes and led to a high self esteem withing the Revolutionaires. The American Minutemen took the first Victory of the Revolutionary War.

  • The Battle of Bunker (Beeds) Hill

    The Battle of Bunker (Beeds) Hill
    Location: Charlestown Mass. The Battle begun once the Colonist had knowldege of British Attempt to capture Dorchester Heights. American troops defended the the hill and fortified it in order to keep control of the hill this wbattle was one of the first major victories for the American troops. The British lost a total of 1,054 men and the Clonist lost a total of 455 men.

    Thsi battle resultedas as a loss to the American forces as they were pushed back from Long Ilsand and were evacuated to New York.The American had bast lossses compared to the British casualties.

    Location:trenton, NJ
    After losing to the British in New York the American forces were forced to retreat trhough New Jersey. The American forces cdominated the battlefield pushing back the British achieving a vicory.

    The British wanted to take control of Philadelphia, during this battle the American forces lost to the British. The British took control of Philadelphiia. Although the American troops had lost their morale was not affected by the the defeat.

    The British wanted control over Upstate New York in order to achiev that they fought the colonist in the Battle of Saratoga. The Americans forced them out and made the British retreat giving the Americans a victory this place was of such importance that a second battle was fought in Oct 7th of that year since this gave the Briitish control of NY and New England.

    On a hot summer day the British and the Americans fought eacother at what is now Freehold, NJ. This battle is descrived as one of the longest since it took all day during this battle Molly Pitcher became a legend and an Aerican Hero. The equipment the british were wearing was a big part that lead to an American victory since many soldiers died from heat exaustion.

    During this battle the Americans had help fro a group of 500 french soldiers of African Descent. The Battle ressulted as an American defeat and the british contolled tthe port of Savannah.
  • Battle of Cowpwns

    The Americans had a great battle making the British loos up to 800 men in the Battlefield the Americans only lost 100 men, This battle gave the colonies a great morale that will help the war on its last stages.
  • Guilford Court House

    Guilford Court House
    This battle is known for being one of the most bloody and fierce battles of the Revolution. Both sides suffered great casualties reaching up to the thousands. The Battle was very close and concluded as a draw evn though the colonist lost more men.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Yorktown was one of the last and most important battles it resulted as a victory to the Americans and the its allies the French. The British had manyy casualties and surrendered to the American forces.
