    The first major battle into the American Revolution. This fight is when the colonists set up on the hill so they could easily shoot the redcoats when they would come up the hill. They lost because they ran out of supplies and ammunition. British General William Howe led the redcoats up the hill. It didn't ever say who the commander was for the colonial army that was set up on the hill.

Commander for the Americans was General Benjamin Lincoln while Sir Henry Clinton the British commander led the British into Charleston with 10,000 soldiers.
