    This was the start of the American revolution,when hunreds of british troops (red coats) marched from boston into concord to capture John Hancock and Samuel Adams.April 18 (a day before the war) Paul Revere rode through concord and warned people and minuet men of the british. the minute men waited at lexington for the troops many minute men were killed and even more wounded so the britsh won the battle.After the battle the british learned Hancock and Adams had already escaped.

    Fort Ticonderoga served as a point to Canada and the Hudson River. Ethan Allen and Colonel Benedict Arnold led men and over took the fort.this was a small scale battle,but it had great importance because it was the first victory for the colonists.

    The leaders of the colonial army learned the british generals were planing to send troops from boston to the surrounding hills. In responce Willam prescott sent 1,200 troops to bunker hill and Breeds hill.once the british found out about this they moved in for an attack. After two assults with heavy british casualts the british were able to take this position on the third assult. the british suffered heavy losses: over 800 wounded and 226 killed, but it ended in a victory for he british.

Brigadier General Hugh clashed with two regiments of the British.when Mencer and his troop were overun Washington set some militia. when the militia saw the fleeing troops they started to retreat untill washington came with reinforcements causeing the british to retreat.in princeton John Sullivan encouraged some British troops to surrender ending the war for the colonists.

This was seen as the turning part in the war it ended with an american victory and Burgoyne's surrender.

Ferguson heard this news and decided to retreat but was surrounded by the patriots. in the end the patriots one the battle and with Ferguson dead the british could not go after the Carolinas.
