The bandaid was invinted by Earle Dickinson. He made the bandaid because his wife was always cutting herself and burning herself. He made the bandaid out of a strip of tape and gauze. He used to make a bunch of the bandaids and leave them out for her so whenever she got cut she could go and get one herself.

In 1951 the first decorative bandaids came out. They started stamping things like superman and hello kitty. Those were a hit at the market and they nearly sold 3,000,000 bandaids.

Bandaids really started to get fancy. Jhonson & Jhonson started making different types of bandaids like scar healing bandaids, liquid bandaids, and active flex bandaids and water pruff ones.

In 1970 the jingle was made it is " I'm stuck on bandaid." That brought a lot more popularity on the product.
