  • The First Fleet

    The First Fleet
    The First Fleet was 11 ships that departed from Portsmouth, England on the 13th of May, 1787 and sailed all the way to Australia. They deported convicts from England to Australia and their expedition finished at Botany Bay. There were around 788 convicts on the First Fleet. They got to Australia in 1788.
  • The Wool Industry

    The Wool Industry
    The Wool Industry occurred in 1797. The farmers that brought up the wool industry were John and Elizabeth Macarthur. It was the perfect product to export to England. In 1870, Australia became the world's biggest wool manufacturer.

    The Rum Rebellion occurred on the 26 January 1808 to 1 January 1810. The rum rebellion started because governor William Bligh was overthrown and replaced by military Junta
  • The Gold Rushes

    In 1851 Edward Hargraves discovered gold in Australia and started the famous event. In the Lewis Ponds Creek, specks of gold were found. When people found out that gold was found, so many people from around the world started looking for gold.
  • The Eureka Stockade

    The Eureka Stockade
    The Eureka Stockade occurred on Sunday the 3rd of December, 1854 in Ballarat East, Victoria.The Eureka Stockade happened about 113 km north-west of melbourne.This going on during the gold rush.The miners had to bye a licence and have it with them at all time otherwise they would be arrested and they would get charged. The charge cost would of been 5 pounds.The Eureka Stockade was caused by a disagreement of what gold miners thought were unfair laws and policing of their work by the government
  • Burke and Wills Expedition

    Burke and Wills Expedition
    In 1860 the Government of South Australia offered a prize to the first expedition to cross the Australian continent from south to north. Burke and Wills started exploring between the time of 1860 and 1861. Burke, Wills and the 18 other people travelled from Melbourne to Flinders river. They travelled around 3,250 kilometres.
