The battle of Khe Sanh left almost 1,000 dead and lasted 77 days. Started on January 21st of 1968. It was the longest battle during the war, and one of the most deadly. This was the beginning of the Tet Offensive.

The Tet Offensive was the turning point in the war when North Vietnam began to take over. Although these attacks left them with many casualties, it was essentially a victory for them. They ended up taking over huge chunks of land in Southern Vietnam.

The U.S attack My Lai, which ends in a bloody massacre. The U.S attacked harmless citizens which ended up in well over 500 casualties. This is now viewed as one of the most hateful scenes of the Vietnam War.

After North Vietnam starts to control many areas, the U.S begins the slow process of returning troops home.

President Nixon orders for 40 millions pounds of bombs to be dropped over North Vietnam. This was effective, but the U.S didn't completely succeed.

Northern Vietnam starts to claim a lot of the land in South Vietnam, and the war is becoming almost out of hand. The Southern Vietnamese Armies still fought despite their conditions.

A peace treaty was signed, signifying the official end of the United States involvement in the war. Many of the U.S troops still in Vietnam were removed and were able to return home.

The Vietnam War left three million dead, over two million of them were civilians.

Vietnam still remains a communist country and is still united.
