Shackleton was trying to cross the South Pole. But one day, the Endurance, got trapped by huge ice blocks, crushing the sides of the ship. Shackelton and his crew had to get out of the ship. -
The Endurance is No More!
One month later, the ship sunk. Then, Shackleton talked to Frankie Wild and Frank Worsley, the ship's skipper and next-in-command, deciding what to do next. -
Following Their Plan, Seal Leopard Attack!
The plan was to pull the lifeboats that was loaded with supplies, and try to cross the barren ice to open water. If they made it, they would use the three lifeboats to reach South Georgia Island. Soon, everyone became tired and sore. They then decided to wait for the ice to carry them to the water. Food was really worrying Shack's crew. It was very dangerous to get it, too. But one time, Tom got attacked by a sea leopard, and Frankie shot and killed it. The crew now has large food supply. -
Deciding to go to Elephant Island.
The ice began breaking into peices, good enough for the boats to move. But Shack knew his crew couldn't make it all the way to South Georgia Island. So, he decided to first reach Elephant Island, just to make it easier. -
Saving Ernie from the Ice Crack.
It was around 11:00 p.m., and the crew was sleeping. But Shackelton then heard a noise. He and Frankie looked out of the tent, and they saw the ice was cracking, heading to one of the tents! The crew saw what happened. Shack suddenly saw a sleeping bag in the water, and Ernie Holness was trapped inside it. Shack quickly saved him before Ernie got smashed between the ice as it came back together. -
Continuing the Journey to Elephant Island.
Sackleton and his crew were continuing on the journey to Elephant Island. While it happened, the crew was getting dehydrated. Shack told them to suck the frozen seal meat they had. -
Land Ho!
The crew were still on sea. Then, they quickly saw Elephant Island and got there. -
The South Georgia Island Journey Begins!
Shack is now heading out to sea to reach South Geogia Island, but he's leaving twenty-two men, and only bringing Frank Worsley, Big Tom Crean, Chippy McNeish, Tim McCarthy and John Vincent with him. Soon, the men were out in the Artic Ocean. The men left behind, were worried about Shack. Would he be able to save them. Or would it be too late for Shack to save them? -
Shack and the Men Vs Gray Beard!
The men were in the sea, battling the water. they were using all their might, trying to keep ice out of the boat, If any weight was added, the boat might sink. Then, Shack saw one of the biggest waves he ever saw, a Gray Beard! But finally, Chippy saved the men from drowning. -
Land Ho Again at South Georgia Island, Journey to Whaling Station!
May 10-18, 1916 After seventeen days,the crew finally found South Georgia, still at sea. The men were planning how to reach land. But soon they battled the worse hurricane they've ever seen. During nine hours, they battled the hurricane to keep the boat afloat. Soon, they reached the land of Sofrom the Whaling Station. -
Climbing Up the Mountain
The men struggled up the mountain, and later on it became night time, so they slid down the mountain. Then, for thirty hours without sleep, they hiked up the mountain. -
Reached the Whaling Station, and Getting Help From Them
The men soon found and reached the whaling station. Shack then asked them to help them recue the men at Elephant Island. They did, after all for what Shack did. Soon they were on their way to recue the men from Shack's crew. -
Recued the Men!
One month later, Shack and the men from the whaling station finally saved the men from the mountain on South Georgia Island and Elephant Island.
