  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years' War, took place for 9 years instead was a war that people are fighting for the land past the Appalachian Mountain. Native Americans fought on both sides, the British and the French. It ended with a treaty called the Treaty of Paris.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was declared by the British Crown at the end of the French and Indian War. Indians were not happy about the fact that the settlers/the colonists were settling in their land. The proclamation was there to prevent the settlers from settling past the Appalachian Mountain.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act was the first tax that the British put on the colonists. It was to impose taxes on sugar and molasses. The colonists were not happy because they believe in taxation without representation.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was a tax that was put on the British Imports. They taxed imports like tea, paper, ink, glass, etc. It was also one of the Taxes that took away freedom from the colonists.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The Boson Massacre happened when the British decided to put more taxes on the colonists' shoulders to pay off their war debts, the settler did not like the fact that they have more taxes to pay so they started to protest against the British. The British killed 5 men while shooting at a group of protestors.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was an event where the colonist dressed up as Mohawk Indians and aboard the ships that contain tea chest. They were not happy with the British and the imposing of taxes so they decided to dump those chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. The teas that were dumped into the chest cost about 4 million dollars.
  • Boston Blockade

    This was the British response to the Boston Tea Party. The British had closed down Boston Harbor to prevent imports and exports to continue. They also demanded from the colonists to pay the cost of tea they had dumped into the harbor.
  • Intolerable Act

    Intolerable Act
    This was put in place after the Boston Tea Party. It was a punishment to the colonists after the acts of the colonial defiance. The laws were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their protest in reaction to changes in taxation by the British to the detriment of colonial goods.
  • Continental Congress

    Continental Congress
    It was the Delegates from all of the 13 colonies, except Georgia and met at Philadephia. They discussed and organized a colonial resistance against the British. It was the first 2 years of the American Revolution.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    The declaration of independence was a paper written mainly by Thomas Jefferson to the British crown demanding freedom on all 13 colonies. It stated that people's rights cannot be taken away by British rule. It was signed by the Delegates of the 13 colonies at the bottom of the paper.
