Apple Watch was the first smartwach developed by apple, and it was presented on september 9th of 2014. The product was available for purchase after june 26th 2015 world-wide, but some places like the USA, Japan, and Canada got it from early acces starting from april 24th of 2015. -
the apple watch "series"
A year later, appele launched two versions of the device, and they were called Apple Wacth "series 1", and "series 2".
The series 1, was an improved version of the previous model, with a better batery life, and some minor changes to the dislpay. Meanwhile, series 2 added water resistance, a new "underwater" mode, that allowed the watch to track distance during swimming sesions, a built-in GPS, and it was overall faster.
They were released world-wide on september 18th of 2016. -
Apple Watch series 3
A year later, the series 3 was launched, and it offered the services of Siri, voice recognition, a faster procesor, and a battery that doubles the battery life of the previous series.

Apple Watch series 4
Then, the series 4 was launched, the screen became bigger, and made of sapphire, the online services became faster, the waterproofing aspect of the smartwatch became better, and many more improvements to the asthetics of the wathc were made.
it was released on september 12th of 2018, and the support for the series 1 was discontinued. -
Apple Watch series 5
The apple watch series 5 is the lastest model, and it has improvements in the GPS services, a faster procesor than previous models, and a battery life that improved gradually. This model became available for purchase world-wide on september 20th of 2019, and with this, the support for the series 2 was discotinued, and the price for the series 3 dropped.
